OVERPRONATION occurs when the foot lands on the outside of the heel and then rolls inward excessively, transferring excess weight. This leads to pressure mainly on the big toe and second toe during push-off. Potential injuries include shin splints, plantar fasciitis, bunions, and heel spurs. Individuals with this foot type typically have low arches or flat feet.
